Abstract

Burnout is defined as a state of psychological, emotional and physical stress in responseto prolonged exposureto occupational stress.(1) The COVID 19 pandemichas put an immense burden on the medical fraternity. In an Intensive Care Unit, where there is a need for constant contact with the patient for a prolonged period of time it has become a challenge to overcome. Burnout is prevalent in highly stressful departments such as Emergency departments and Intensive Care Units. In this study we attemptedto understand the level of burnout present in doctors working in COVID19 Intensive Care Units.
